Developing and managing career guidance at school with digital tools
Developing and managing career guidance at school with digital tools
The project, which is based at the University of Münster, aims to develop a digital tool to promote school-specific and quality-led careers guidance. To this end, an exchange and cooperation with 20 secondary schools in North Rhine-Westphalia is planned.
Theoretically, the development is based on the current scientific discourse, which identifies seven critical areas that are conducive to career guidance.
The tool aims to make school-specific career guidance in these seven areas visible in order to provide schools with a current status. The tool can also be used to derive potential for the next development steps based on the status quo. Specific materials are provided for this purpose.
Our research is located in the field of educational sciences and our team is passionate about monitoring and optimizing existing career guidance programs in schools. By combining pedagogical expertise and current research, we strive to comprehensively map and target career guidance programs in schools to provide students with the best possible support in discovering their individual career goals.

With the project, launched in autumn 2023, we focus on supporting schools in their development of career guidance programs in terms of content, personnel and organizational assistance. In the long term, we aim to provide the product available to all schools (in NRW) so that it can generally be used for specific schools.
